my story
Sarah Norris
I'm Sarah. I'm a single mum, a witch, an astrologer, a tarot reader, a hairdresser, a yoga teacher and an aromatherapist. I also have a psychology degree.
I work with multiple modalities because I’m a very multidimensional being, I can’t fit in a box. So I won’t be putting you in one either.
I care deeply about people, especially women who've spent far too much of their lives questioning themselves because of how someone else has treated them.
I'm here for the women who are ready to find themselves again. The ones who are tired of second-guessing everything, walking on eggshells, carrying everyone else's emotional baggage and wondering why and when the hell it became so hard to just be themselves.
Especially single mums navigating toxic exes, complicated co-parenting relationships and all the other shit life can throw at you when you're already doing your best to keep everything together.
If that's you, pull up a chair. We should probably talk.
I've experienced domestic violence in more than one relationship, navigated co-parenting with a former partner, dealt with workplace bullying, and experienced the harsh realities of single motherhood. I also grew up with my mum going in and out of hospital.
I'm not sharing those things because I think suffering makes someone more qualified to help others, or because I believe every painful experience needs to be turned into an inspirational life lesson.
I'm sharing them because they're part of my story. They've shaped how I see people, relationships, resilience and the ways we can lose ourselves while trying to survive difficult situations. I’ve found myself living on autopilot (ticking boxes and doing what ‘should’ be done) rather than from my heart many times.
One of the biggest turning points in my life was becoming a single mum while pregnant, with a seven-month-old to care for, right in the middle of my yoga teacher training.
Looking back now, I sometimes wonder how the fuck did I get through that.
At the time, I wasn't sitting around feeling empowered or having some grand spiritual awakening. It was simply hard. And I just kept going. There was a baby to care for, a pregnant woman to look after (me) a life to navigate and laundry (and a dog and 2 cats). So I did what I had to do, one thing at a time. And I am still so proud of how I got through those times. I also look back and shudder sometimes, and think how grateful I am that thats behind me.
And somewhere along the way, I learnt something about myself: I'm capable of a hell of a lot more than I might think.
I don't believe women should have to be strong all the time, and I'm not going to pretend that this stuff that happens for us is fun to go through and ‘enlightening’. Sometimes things are just bloody hard, and sometimes you have to get through kiddy bed time and finishing hanging out the towels, cleaning the sticky stuff off the fridge handle before you can even think about what comes next.
But I look back at the woman I was then and realise she got through things she probably couldn't have imagined herself handling beforehand.
That changed how I see myself.
It's also a big part of why I believe in helping other women find their own way forward, rather than telling them who they should be or how they should live.
Why I do this work
I didn't start out with a plan to work specifically with women who'd been through toxic relationships, or single mums. I started out doing readings for everyone. And look if my work or views resonate with you and you’re not a woman or a single mum I would love for you to reach out anyway - schedule a discovery call to see if we are a fit, its just that I have lived experience as a woman, a single mum, who has dealt with toxic relationships, lost herself in the process and found herself again. I don’t teach anything that I have not lived or experienced myself.
Also, over time I noticed that I connected mostly with women. And the women who seemed to gravitate towards me often had lived through, are living with and struggling with similar experiences to mine.
And I started feeling a pull to share what I'd learnt along the way. Not because I think I've got life all figured out (I still have my own shit going on, plus raw stuff that I’m working on with my own mentors and teachers that I’m not ready to share), or because I think my way is the only way. But because if something I've learnt through my own experiences can make another woman's journey a little less difficult, confusing, a little less lonely or a little easier to navigate, then why the hell wouldn't I share it?
While I can’t go back in time and tell my past self everything that I’ve learned I can share what I know with you. Way to solve problems? Witchcraft and skincare. I’ve got it all neatly packaged up for you.
Lets make this shit show easier for you to transform so you can get on with building the beautiful life we both know you deserve.
What I stand for (and what I absolutely do not)
I have a few things I feel very strongly about.
I don't believe you should have to hand over your power, your money or your ability to make decisions because someone claims to have special access to the universe, the spirits or your future. I don’t have special powers, I’ve just practiced this stuff, am skilled at it and study it for fun. You absolutely have the ability to change your life and I want to give you a leg up. Use all the work I have done to your advantage.
I don't want you dependent on me. I want you to develop a stronger relationship with yourself.
I won't tell you how to run your life. It's your life, your choices and your consequences. What I can do is help you explore the patterns you're working with, consider what might be supporting or challenging you, and find practical ways to approach things differently.
I believe we're active participants in our lives. We don't control everything that happens to us, and we certainly don't deserve the painful things other people do to us. But we can learn to recognise our options, make intentional choices and decide what we want to do next.
In other words, I can show you how I learned to play the cards I have been dealt and to alchemise it into something constructive.
I'm also not the reader to come to if you want me to tell you that you'll meet the love of your life in exactly four months, what he'll look like, what he'll be wearing and which moon-water recipe will make him appear.
I’m not hating on moon water here, I’m just not going to pretend I can guarantee your future, or that working with me will guarantee everything on your vision board.
I'm far more interested in helping you understand what's happening in your life, what patterns might be playing out and what you can do with that information.
Because knowing yourself is useful. Learning how to use what you know? That's where things can start to change.
So, why a call myself a witch?
I'm also a hairdresser. I change people's appearances using colour and scissors, which is magic.
But I've always liked the word ‘witch’ because it gives me room to bring all the different parts of myself together. Working with energy, manifestation and intention. Creating change. Taking something that's already there and transforming it into something new.
For me, it's about being intentional with what you create, what you give your energy to and what you're no longer willing to accept.
There is another reason I connect with the word.
Throughout history, women have been persecuted for witchcraft, and the history behind that persecution is complicated. But the image of women being punished and silenced for who they were has always resonated with me, particularly because I've experienced being treated unfairly myself.
One thing I've learnt is how easy it can be to end up feeling ashamed of what someone else has done to you.
You can find yourself protecting their reputation, keeping the peace, staying quiet and worrying about what people will think of you if you tell the truth.
Meanwhile, you're the one left carrying the weight of it, while old mate gets to continue living as if nothing happened (apart from twisting the narrative and badmouthing you). It’s such bullshit and a huge social injustice that we are carrying in society right now. And to be quite honest, I think that behaviour is ruining things for everyone, not just ruining things for women.
I want women to know they don't have to hide what they've been through to protect the people who hurt them. They don't have to take responsibility for someone else's behaviour, and they don't have to be ashamed of themselves because someone treated them badly.
We do need to call people out on their shit and take the reins back to our own lives.
You get to tell your story. You get to decide what you share, when you share it and with whom. You get to take your power back without asking permission.
That's part of what being a witch means to me: intention, transformation, personal power and the freedom to create something different from what came before.
Scary to toxic people who need you to stay small and quiet so they can continue on their merry way ruining the world for everyone.
And yes, that magic absolutely involves a tarot deck, an astrology chart, an oil blend, nice aromatherapy product or changing someone's hair colour.
And sometimes telling people to fuck off.
How all my witchy bits fit together
Astrology can help us explore patterns, tendencies and the different energies at play in our lives.
Tarot gives us a way to reflect on what's happening, ask different questions and consider perspectives we might not have thought about.
Witchcraft, intention and ritual offer ways to make space for change, reconnect with what matters to us and bring our intentions into everyday life.
Yoga, breathwork and aromatherapy bring things back into the body, giving us practical ways to pause, reconnect and create moments of grounding.
And my background in hair and beauty is another reminder that transformation doesn't have to be some enormous spiritual massively woo woo (even though I am massively woo) event. Sometimes doing something for yourself, seeing yourself differently or making a change you've been wanting for ages is part of finding your way back, too.
A daily ritual to remind yourself of who the fuck you are.
I’ve done enough hair to know how much of a difference maintaining your outer beauty can impact on your mood and confidence,
They're different ways of exploring what's going on, reconnecting with yourself and finding practical ways to move forward.
I bring them together in a way that makes sense for you, rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all approach.
Who I'm here for
I'm here for the woman who's spent too long questioning herself.
The single mum who's trying to navigate a difficult ex while keeping everything else in her life running. Desperately hoping the penny won’t drop.
The woman who's been made to feel like she's too sensitive, too difficult, too emotional or somehow always the problem.
The woman who's lost confidence in her own judgement because someone has spent years making her question it.
The woman who's ready to understand her patterns, strengthen her boundaries, reconnect with her identity and start making decisions based on what she actually wants and needs.
You don't need to have everything figured out before you come to me.
You don't need to be perfectly healed, endlessly positive or able to turn every difficult situation into a lesson in personal growth.
You can be angry. You can be confused. You can be exhausted. You can be spiritual and sceptical at the same time. I welcome a healthy skepticism, we need more discernment in this world.
And you absolutely do not have to pretend you're okay when you're not.
What I do ask is that you're willing to be curious about yourself, explore what might be happening beneath the surface and consider what you can do differently moving forward. To have an open mind. And to do the homework I give you.
I'll bring the questions, the tools, the perspective and the occasional lovingly delivered kick up the ass.
This is about taking yourself back.
I don't believe your life has to be defined by the people who've hurt you.
I don't believe your past has to dictate every decision you make next.
And I don't believe you need to become a completely different person to create a different experience of your life.
Sometimes the work is learning to recognise a pattern you've been repeating.
Sometimes it's understanding why a particular dynamic keeps pulling you in.
Sometimes it's learning to trust your own judgement again, setting a boundary, making a decision or finally admitting that something isn't working for you.
And sometimes it's much simpler than that: remembering that you're a person with your own needs, interests, desires and dreams, not just someone responsible for managing everyone else's.
You are allowed to take up space (even in the free weights section of the gym).
You are allowed to change your mind.
You are allowed to speak about what happened to you without carrying the shame for someone else's behaviour (if they don’t like people speaking up about them doing shitty things THEY should stop doing shitty things).
You are allowed to build a life that feels like yours again.
You don't have to do it all at once, and you don't have to do it perfectly.
You just have to be willing to start. Small steps. Make it gentle and enjoyable. You won’t recognise yourself in a year.
So, if you're ready to understand yourself a little better, trust yourself a little more and reclaim a bit more say in your own life, you're in the right place.
Let's look at the patterns, make sense of the shit and figure out what you want to do with it.
More self-trust. Stronger boundaries. Less self-abandonment. And a whole lot less wondering whether you're the problem every time someone treats you badly.
