It is made up of 2 carrier oils and 3 essential oils.
The carrier oils are Jojoba and Rosehip oil, and essential oils are Lavender, Sandalwood and Eucalyptus.
Jojoba oil is moisturising and soothing it is closest to the skins natural sebum, which means that the skin can absorb it better. Rosehip oil is great for smoothing fine lines, has regenerating qualities, improves skin texture, balances out pigmentation, and helps to reduce signs of scarring.
Rosehip oil is well known for its regenerating qualities, making it a great choice to help skin to repair. It can reduce redness and scarring, and contains high levels of fatty acids.
Lavender essential oil is well known in traditional medicine for its antiseptic and skin healing capabilities as well as its calming and sleep enhancing qualities.
It balances our internal yin and yang energy, is great preparation for meditation, and helps to calm the mind. Perfect for before bed time and as part of a calming morning ritual for starting a day fresh with minimal mental clutter.
Sandalwood is traditionally used in Aryuvedic, Chinese and Tibetan medicine. It is antimicrobial, and can be used to treat oily skin and acne. It is an astringent, shrinking the pores and has a tightening effect on the skin.
It is also associated with the base and crown chakras, it helps us to ground to the earth and to connect to the divine, which is perfect for healing work. It helps us to maintain a state of inner equilibrium.
Eucalyptus is a cooling, antimicrobial and anti inflammatory essential oil. Traditionally it has been used for asthma as a decongestant. It helps with our breathing and our ability to let go. I use this oil to help open up the throat chakra, which helps to connect to what you need and to verbalise those needs. To cool, breathe, connect to self and let go of what no longer serves.
The antimicrobial qualities help to fight bacteria on the skin and anti inflammatory powers of eucalyptus help to soothe inflamed skin.
